Charlie Neshyba Hodges is a celebrated American dancer, designer, and educator whose career spans two decades of international performance and cross-disciplinary innovation. He was a longtime principal with Twyla Tharp Dance and LA Dance Project under Benjamin Millepied, and originated the role of Marty in Broadway’s Come Fly Away, earning the Fred Astaire Award for Best Male Dancer on Broadway. Recognized for bringing intelligence, humor, and authenticity to the stage, he was named Best Male Dancer of the Year by the European Critics’ Choice Awards and honored as LA Weekly’s Person of the Year for his contributions to dance and dance education.
After retiring from the stage, Hodges shifted his focus to design and education, earning international recognition for his product design work and collaborating with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to create large-scale art installations communicating climate science. Alongside private lessons, and his open classes at Westside Ballet, he also serves on faculty at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, where he trains and mentors emerging artists in ballet, contemporary dance, and movement mechanics.
