Jennifer Knox

Adult Faculty

Jennifer began her professional training in the Graham technique under Denise Vale, then studied extensively in classic jazz technique at the Gus Giordano Dance School in Chicago. She served as a teaching assistant to multiple faculty members at the School at Steps On Broadway including Matt Williams, Lisa Harvie, and Debbie Roshe; while there, she continued her training under multiple masters of jazz and theatre dance including Randy Skinner, Chet Walker, Joe Lanteri, Josh Bergasse, Andy Blankenbueler, Richard Pierlon, and Ray Hesselink.

Her work onstage has earned a Kudos Award (A Chorus Line, Cassie), an Ovation nomination (Dames at Sea, Mona Kent), a Robby nomination (Holiday Inn, Lila Dixon), and rave reviews for Singin’ in the Rain (Lina Lamont), Chicago (Roxie Hart), Damn Yankees (Lola), Mamma Mia (Tanya), Show Boat (Ellie), The Producers (Ulla), 42nd Street (Annie), Merrily We Roll Along (Beth), and Sugar (Sugar). She has performed in over 30 Equity productions, including dancing in the ensembles of Sweet Charity, Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate, Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, Grand Hotel, The Rocky Horror Show, Catch Me if You Can, and Something Rotten. She made her Off- Broadway debut in Seth Rudetsky’s Disaster!, toured the country as Demeter in Cats, and is a former company dancer of Culture Shock Chicago. She is a member of Actors Equity Association and Sag-Aftra, her Film/Television credits include The Dark Knight, The Blacklist, and Stuck.

Adult Beginning/Intermediate Jazz, Fridays 8:00-9:30pm
Class begins with a full technical warmup influenced by the Graham and Giordano techniques, followed by classic jazz exercises/technical work across the floor, and finishes with a combination set to a wide variety of classic and contemporary jazz and pop music.
