Many Westside Ballet alumni dance for companies all across the U.S. While we don’t always have the latest news about every dancer, here is a brief listing:
Congratulations to our newest alumni successes!
Molly Novak joins Boston Ballet II for their 2019-2020 season.
Ashley Campion joins the Miami City Ballet Professional Division for their 2019-2020 season.
Shelby Tzung received the SAB Mae L. Wein award for outstanding promise, and joins the National Ballet of Canada for their 2019-2020 season. Shelby was also accepted into Harvard University, but is deferring as she pursues her professional ballet career.
Lucia Connolly is now in her 4th season with Joffrey Ballet. Lucia danced in the 2019 Centennial Gala in honor of Yvonne Mounsey. She received a standing ovation for her performance in the Balcony Pas de Deux from Pastor’s Romeo and Juliet with fellow Joffrey dancer, Dylan Gutierrez.
Severina Wong continues with Ballet West II for her second season.
Sarah Hurty continues with Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division for another season.
Congratulations to WSB alumna Ariana Lott on getting her M.D.! Ariana grew up at WSB, all the way through dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy in 2006; her dad, Roy Lott, was a stage manager for Westside and the whole family was involved. lifeafterballet #doctor #balletlife #westsideballet
Shelby Tzung joins the prestigious School of American Ballet (SAB) year-round program. Shelby won the Spotlight Award in Classical Dance in 2016.
Severina Wong joins Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division for their 2017-2018 season.
Lyrica Blankfein joins the cast of Anastasia, The Musical, on Broadway.
Molly Novak launches her professional career as a Trainee with the Boston Ballet for their 2017-2018 season.
Giorgia Martelloni-Zabriskie signed a professional contract with Dance Theater of Harlem and began her professional career October 2nd, 2016. She has just been signed for a second season. Giorgia has also been named an Ambassador for Capezio.
Lucia Connolly began her career as a professional ballerina with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago in the summer of 2016. She’s just been signed for a second season. Lucia has also appeared professionally with Barak Ballet in June 2017.
Lyrica Blankfein received the prestigious Mae L. Wien Award, presented to her by Peter Martins on June 3, 2014 at the School of American Ballet workshop gala performance. Lyrica is the third Westside Ballet alumna to receive the prestigious Mae L. Wien award. Lyrica is currently dancing on Broadway.
Jenna Elfman was a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” on August 20 on Fox. Jenna attended WSB for several years, training in classical ballet before turning to acting. She’s best known for her role in the hit TV show, Dharma and Greg.
Monique Meunier has been appointed (with her husband Nilas Martins) Co-Director of Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre (read more). Meunier was a former principal dancer with New York City Ballet and a soloist with American Ballet Theater. She most recently served as ballet master for the Washington Ballet and as a full-time faculty member for its associated school. In the Fall of 2017, Meunier also joins the dance faculty at UC Santa Barbara.
Nicole Haskins signed with Smuin Ballet for Fall 2013.
Francis Veyette, Pennsylvania Ballet, was promoted to principal dancer for the 2011-12 season. Francis is now on faculty with the Miami City Ballet School.
Stayce Camparo is in her ninth season at Kansas City Ballet, while Nicole Haskins is in her sixth season at Sacramento Ballet. Nicole continues to grow as a choreographer; she was invited to participate in the prestigious New York Choreographic Institute.
Kylee Kitchens has been a member of Pacific Northwest Ballet since 2000.
