Levels of Study
General age guidelines are provided below. If you are uncertain of the level in which to enroll your child for summer, please contact: mail@westsideballet.com
LEVEL AGES:
Pre-Primary: age 3
Primary A: age 4
Primary B: age 5
Primary C: age 6
Level 1: Age 7 and up with 1 year experience and basic knowledge of ballet form and terminology.
Level 2: Age 8 and up with 2 years experience and basic knowledge of ballet form and terminology.
Level 3: Age 9-11 with minimum 2 years experience.
Level 3+: Ages 10 and up and with minimum 3 years experience.
Level 4: Ages 11 and up and with minimum 3 years experience.*
Teen Ballet: Ages 11 to 18 (for students who are new to ballet or have recently begun their training).
*Dancers age 11 with 4 or more years of ballet should evaluate in Level 4; less than 4 years of ballet, evaluate in Teen Ballet.
For students age 12 and above who are new to Westside Ballet, an evaluation class may be required for the following levels:
Level 4+: Ages 12-14 with minimum 4 years experience, minimum 1 year pointe training.
Level 5: Ages 12-14 with minimum 4 years experience, minimum 1 year pointe training.
Level 5+ to Level 7: Ages 14-18 with 7-8 years experience, minimum 2-3 years pointe training.
