Emily Hite trained at Westside Ballet from 1995 until 2000 under the artistic direction of Yvonne Mounsey. She danced the White Cat in Sleeping Beauty, staged by Rosemary Valaire, as well as principal roles in La Vivandière and George Balanchine’s Serenade and Concerto Barocco. In Westside Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, she danced the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Emily then joined the Sacramento Ballet. Under artistic directors Ron Cunningham and Carinne Binda, she danced Alice in Alice in Wonderland; Helena in A Midsummer’s Night Dream; Act I Pas de Trois, Cygnet, and the Neapolitan Pas de Deux in Swan Lake; and the Melancholic duet in Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments.

After graduating from Stanford University, Emily moved to San Francisco, where she was a member of the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company and Hope Mohr Dance. She also performed with Robert Moses’ Kin, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery and Mark Foehringer Dance Project, and she continued to perform as a guest artist with the Sacramento Ballet.
