Intensives

Ages 8-19

June 17 – August 2

Led by Westside’s exceptional resident faculty and esteemed guest instructors, the Summer Intensives & Workshops are designed to strengthen and nurture young dancers’ technique and artistry. Classes are offered in a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and more!

Westside Ballet’s unique Summer Intensive programs fulfill the demand for exceptional ballet in the greater SoCal community. Summer programs for serious ballet students may assist in transitioning from a healthy recreational hobby to a potential career path.

Founded in 1967 by NYCB principal ballerina, Yvonne Mounsey, and co-founder, Royal Ballet First Soloist Rosemary Valaire, Westside School of Ballet distinguishes itself as a non-audition academy where all are welcome to study ballet and train to the most refined pre-professional level.

Level placement confirmation will be determined on the first day of classes.

Age 8/9 and up with 2 years experience and basic knowledge of ballet form and terminology. 

3 classes per day / 5 days per week

Monday to Friday, 9:00am-12:45pm

1 ¼ hour daily technique class  + Jazz, Ballet Repertoire (Repertoire varies weekly) and Flamenco. Levels 2 & 3 will have separate Technique classes and combined enrichment classes.  

$1150 / $1100 Early Enrollment by May 1/ $1000 for 2 or more two-week intensives  – Weekly pricing available    

Young Dancers Intensive:

Level 3+/4 or ages 10/11 and up with 3 years experience. 

4 classes per day / 5 days per week

Monday to Friday, 1:00-4:45pm

1 ½ hour daily technique class + Pre-Pointe, Dance Conditioning, Jazz and Variations/Repertoire (varies weekly) and Flamenco.  

$1150 / $1100 Early Enrollment by May 1 / $1000 for 2 or more two-week intensives  – Weekly pricing available    

Intermediate Intensive:

Levels 4+/5, or ages 12-14 and up with minimum 4 years experience.         

4 classes per day / 5 days per week

Monday to Friday, 1:00-5:45pm

1 ½ hr technique and 1 hour pointe (daily), Dance Conditioning, Variations/Repertoire (varies weekly) and Jazz. 

$1250 / $1150 Early Enrollment by May 1 / $1050 for 2  or more two-week intensives  – Weekly pricing available                

Int/Advanced Intensive:

Levels 5+-7, or ages 14-19 with minimum 6-8 years experience, 3 years minimum pointe training.             

4 classes per day / 5 days per week

Monday to Friday, 1:00-5:45pm

1 ½ hr technique and 1 hour pointe (daily), Dance Conditioning, Variations/Repertoire (Classical and Neoclassical, varies weekly). 

$1250 / $1150 Early Enrollment by May 1 / $1050 for 2  or more two-week intensives  – Weekly pricing available
